Pet Whispering

Anyone who knows me knows I love animals!

Last weekend in the Bay Area, Pet Food Express was having an all weekend pet adoption fair for local animal rescues and shelters!

Rocket Dog Rescue – one of the rescue groups – sent out a request for volunteers. They needed companions for all the wonderful pooches who were going to be there mingling with their potential new owners.

Say no more – I was in!

When I got to the fair, I was asked if I could look after Sophia – a German Shepard mix.

Sophia was stressed and who wouldn't be – we were at a busy event with lots of other animals! I was told she had been surrendered to Rocket Dog with a litter of pups. Her pups had all found homes, now it was Sophia's turn.

I have learned through my Intuitive reading practice that every living being is connected through energy. Animals are no different. In fact, I have found them to be highly attuned to this vibration.

While I'm not an animal trainer, I have a few techniques that help me connect with and reassure them when I meet them.

Before I interact with animals, I ground myself so that I am calm and centered.

Next, I clear my mind.

Now it's time for an energy check in.

From my mind's eye, I say hello to the animal.

I have found that animals really respond to energy and images, rather than a lot of words.

To put an animal at ease, I send calming energy and a feeling of love. In my experience, most animals don't understand the word love, so I have found that it's best to show them with feeling.

Animals are incredibly intelligent, and highly emotional so when they don't understand what's going on, it's very stressful for them.

At the adoptathon, I sent Sophia a mental image of her with her new family. Images are the best way to communicate with animals and it helps keep them calm and relaxed.

I have found that animals love being talked to and having their feelings validated.

If you are thinking about welcoming a furry family member into your home, please consider adopting from a local rescue or shelter.

If adopting is not in the cards, there are many other ways to become involved in saving a pet's life: volunteering, fostering, rescuing and donating.

"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened."

A few nights ago I had a disturbing dream about my beloved cat, Josie. I came to find out that it was Josie’s way of telepathically telling me that she wasn’t feeling well. She had a bladder infection and I needed to take her to the vet for antibiotics!

All living things are connected by Universal energy, including animals! The fact that we are bound by energy means that we all have the power to communicate with one another.

Communication through energy includes the ability to hear the thoughts of others, sense information though clairvoyance and to get messages through dreams.

Animals are highly attuned to energy! I frequently use my intuitive abilities to check in with my two kitties – Moxie and Josie. Whenever I notice one of them is bothered by something, feeling unwell or behaving badly, I want to know what they are tying to tell me and how I can start to help them feel better.

Reading a pet is a lot like reading a person! I receive mental images, thoughts, feelings and other information from the animal.

Once it is clear what the issue is, I can let them know that I understand and do healing work to help bring forth a solution that will either change the behavior or bring about a positive outcome….even if it’s a trip to the vet ;-(

Both Moxie and Josie love that I can validate them and understand them in this way and that I see them as unique, divine beings.

Coming up in future posts, I will be sharing tips and techniques so that you can start to develop your own intuitive abilities to tune into your furry friends.
