I always love the beginning of the year! For me, it's a wonderful opportunity to hit the reset button and start fresh.
It's a great time to look at the upcoming year and identify all of the positive changes you want to make.
To start, think about all the areas in your life and come up with goals that will help you expand in each area.
I tend to focus on personal growth, career, relationships, spirituality, health and prosperity.
For example, a personal growth goal could be to work on your emotional state and to focus on being more grounded.
A career goal might be to find new ways to put yourself out there by getting a new job, taking a class or by starting that business you always dreamed of.
A relationship goal might be to work on the state of your current relationship so that you can discover new and deeper ways to communicate and be open.
A spiritual goal could be to begin a consistent meditation practice so that you can be more calm and centered.
A prosperity goal might be to make a budget so you can save money.
A health goal might include reducing your stress level by letting go of minor annoyances.
It helps to write your goals down. This way they become concrete and anchored in reality, especially once the initial thrill has worn off and you encounter your first obstacle.
It can be helpful to set a time frame to accomplish your goals and to think about additional resources you might need to help get you there.
As you look at your goals for 2016, part of your journey might be to change certain beliefs about yourself. You might have a belief that you are too busy to meditate every day or to nurture your spiritual well-being.
Get creative, especially when it comes to money. I can't tell you how often I hear “I can't do this because I don't have the money.” It's amazing how opportunities open up once you commit to your endeavor.
Let's be adventurous and fearless this year! Let's put ourselves out there and do what we've been dreaming about!
