Making Genuine Connections

So much of life involves superficial interactions with people who are distracted and ungrounded.

That’s why it stands out when you make a genuine connection with someone - it’s uplifting and energizing.

What do I mean by a genuine connection?

It’s when you create an aura of trust and encouragement with someone - where you feel comfortable sharing your feelings, vulnerabilities and can be your most authentic self.

Forming a real connection with someone will make you feel less isolated, more hopeful and joyful. If you are experiencing a moment of grief, it can comfort you.

It’s also a spiritual connection that offers validation, insight and healing.

Validation happens when you experience self-acceptance and love and see this reflected in someone else.

As you feel more connected, your heart chakra will open up. You’ll notice that it’s easier to tap into the vibration of compassion and empathy.

What gets in the way of forming real connections?

When you are struggling to connect to someone else, it’s usually a sign that you are disconnected. Often, this will manifest as feelings of fear, negativity or stubbornness. It will be easier to cling to preconceived notions about people rather than being open and in the moment.

What steps can you take to open yourself up to a genuine connection?

I always say that there’s no substitute for being grounded. When you’re grounded, you feel more secure and calm. It allows you to tap into your feelings and instincts.

Practice honesty. Be real with someone. Take a chance.

Practice empathy. Listen to the other person. Imagine yourself in their shoes. Spiritually, we’re all made of the same Universal Energy.

Self-Love

"For me, love is the most important force. It moves the universe." - Laura Esquivel

February is the month we celebrate love and all the joyous ways it makes us feel.

There are many ways you can experience love: through family, a significant other, friends, pets, finding your purpose, volunteering, art, nature and let’s not forget loving yourself!

Before you can truly love someone else, you must first be able to feel love for yourself. Loving yourself is all about self-acceptance and waking up to your true self.

Self-love is a continual cycle of:
Self-discovery – seeking to understand who you are as spirit
Self-improvement – committing to growth and being open to change
Self-acceptance – forgiving yourself and having trust in yourself

Staying connected to your heart and higher self is the best way that you can strengthen and nurture a positive and loving relationship with yourself.

Take a few minutes each day to fill yourself up with love. Take a few deep breaths and see and feel a gold light coming down through the top of your head. This gold light is Universal Love. Continue to breathe in this incredible gold light and send it down throughout your entire body. With each breath feel this energy filling up each cell and radiating love.

What are Chakras?

Chakras are subtle energy centers found in the body that communicate energetic information between your body and your soul.

There are seven major chakras in your body. Each chakra has a different vibrational quality and function to keep you aligned and healthy.

Chakras regulate the flow of subtle energy throughout the body. When a chakra is balanced you feel happy and harmonious. When a chakra is blocked or imbalanced it will affect your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing.

An Introduction to The Chakra System

First chakra (Root Chakra). Color Red. Location: Base of your spine.

The first chakra relates to life and survival in the physical world, including where you live, where you work and how you navigate day-to-day life.
The first chakra facilitates grounding and stability. Grounding acts as an anchor for the body and helps you deal with stress and problems in a calm and balanced way. Grounding also protects your body from being overwhelmed by the higher frequencies in the upper chakras.

Second Chakra (Sacral Chakra). Color Orange. Location: Belly button.

The second chakra relates to your feelings, sexual energy and emotions. By tapping into and not blocking your emotions, you allow a more harmonious flow of energy to move throughout your body.

Third Chakra (Solar Plexus Chakra). Color Yellow. Location: Solar Plexus.

The third chakra is in the solar plexus and relates to your personal power and how you run your energy. It deals with issues of willpower, purpose and action.

Fourth Chakra (Heart Chakra). Color green. Location: Chest.

The fourth chakra relates to love, compassion, self-acceptance and relationships.  The heart chakra is your spiritual center and is the gateway between the lower (body) chakras and the higher (spirit) chakras.

Fifth Chakra (Throat Chakra). Color bright blue. Location: Throat.

The fifth chakra relates to creativity, communication and the ability to speak your truth. It allows you to become aware of your inner voice so you always know what is best for you.

Sixth Chakra (Third Eye Chakra). Color indigo. Location: Center of your head.

The sixth chakra is the link between your inner world and your outer world. The sixth chakra is also known as the third eye, a subtle energy center that deals with psychic abilities, intuition and wisdom.

Seventh Chakra (Crown Chakra). Color Violet. Location: Top of your head.

The crown chakra connects you to your spiritual energy. This chakra is associated with knowledge, understanding, awareness and your relationship to the divine.  It allows you to be at one with the Universe and experience the interconnectedness of life.

The more you know about your chakras, the more you can stay connected to your life force energy! When your chakras are clear and unblocked, your energy will flow more smoothly and you will notice more energy and vibrancy in your life. You will start to feel more empowered, calm and peaceful in any situation and at any time.

Check back next time - the focus will be on how to clear and re-balance your chakras.

How an Intuitive Reading Works

I get asked all the time about what I do and what happens during a reading.

Presenting TJC’s guide to getting an intuitive reading:

Everything in the Universe is alive with energy. While you can’t see it, you can feel it.

You have an energy field that surrounds you called an aura as well as energy centers within you known as chakras.

Your aura has 7 layers. The lower layers, the layers closest to your body reveal survival and emotional information while the upper layers are related to unconditional love and your connection with the divine.

When I read your Aura I see pictures, colors and symbols that reflect your current physical, mental and spiritual state.

On the other hand, chakras are spinning wheels of spiritual energy that are associated with energy centers in your body. Chakras connect us to the soul and reveal information about your life-purpose, relationships, love, emotions, struggles, creativity, the past and opportunities for growth.

How I Read:
Every reading is different depending on what is going on for you. I see clients in person or on the phone. Before the reading I spend between 20-30 minutes preparing for a session. I clear my mind and adjust my energy so I can effortlessly go beyond what the normal senses perceive.

In my mind’s eye (6th chakra) I see images of you, other people, places or things that I am able to describe to you. It is my job to interpret symbols as well as other metaphors to help you gain clarity with any issue and to see what is happening on an energy level.

By using other abilities, I can feel what you feel and hear your thoughts. Some of what I pick up is connected to your beliefs, past experiences and family programming.

During a reading, a deeper truth is revealed so you no longer have to keep creating the same patterns in life and you can avoid situations keeping you from walking your path

Open Your Heart

At times, it’s easy to get caught up in negative energy and to feel angry about something that is happening to you or around you.

We are all spiritual beings and we all have the potential to experience so much love in our lives, however it starts with you!

When you allow more love and joy into your life, you will find yourself slowly beginning to let go of past pains, insecurities and invalidation.

By practicing forgiveness, being compassionate and avoiding judgment, you can let go of things that block your energy and stop you from being happy and in flow.

When you open up your heart and make the conscious decision to focus on a more positive and caring perspective, you will begin to infuse the situation with this energy.

I love Mother Earth so much! This video touches my soul and validates what a beautiful world we live in.
